With the advent of wellness revolution and diet fads, we tend to forego taste when it comes to food. It doesn’t matter if what we’re munching on tastes like cardboard as long as it delivers its promise of making us fit enough to slip into that little black dress or those skinny jeans. But someday, somehow, the bon vivant in all of us will crave for that one bite of real good food with real food taste.

Offering more than just culinary treats and a stress-free way to spend your special occasion, C3 Events Place and Restaurant in Greenhills ups the gastronomic ante with the launch of its spa cuisine, a selection of healthy but still hearty array of well-prepared dishes.

C3 specializes in good food and event packages for weddings, debuts, kiddie parties and almost any parties you can imagine. And the latest addition to its list is the Spa Cuisine package.

“We’ve been open for a year now, and we’ve seen how different things are created. We wanted another theme to introduce the restaurant food that we have,” says Marinela Trinidad, owner and general manager of C3. “And since it’s summer, and we notice how some people are into spa, we thought of incorporating it in our menu,” she adds.

The spa cuisine is conceptualized by the chefs from the Center of Culinary Arts, Manila, headed by Chef Inigo Castillo, food and beverage manager of C3.

“The restaurant is powered by the prestigious CCA, Manila, culinary school,” says Chef Inigo. “Clients who eat here and enjoy the food are convinced about setting up an event at C3. At the same time, people who get to sample our food during our events come back for more at the restaurant,” the young chef adds.

The spa plate, as they call it, boasts of natural and fresh ingredients cooked the healthiest way possible and arranged in “soothing” presentation. How’s that for a yummy way to de-stress and celebrate life?

Healthy food should never mean bland. There are always ways to enjoy healthy food without taking away our passion as foodies. And at C3, one can be a regular foodie and an intimate health buff at the same time, which means counting calorie intake should never be an issue.

“Aside from cooking food the healthier way – that is, using less fat, and if oil is used it’s always olive oil – we also provide more texture to the food so it doesn’t taste like hospital food,” Chef Inigo says.

C3 has a variety of yummy choices from appetizers down to desserts. Their bruschetta alone as a starter is a real treat, with three dips to choose from eggplant caviar, tatziki and hummus. You can try their Salad Fruit de Mer, a concoction of chilled lemon vinaigrette tossed with paper-thin salmon, poached shrimps and mussels with baby greens, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. Chicken Meditteranean, spice-rubbed chicken paillards with grilled vegetable salad served with roasted tomato pilaf; grilled pork scallopine with sauce puttanesca and grilled vegetables; and tuna au poivre, pepper crusted tuna steak with vegetable timbale and balsamic gastrique, are some of the choices you have for your main course.

And if those are not enough to de-stress you, then their delectable drinks and desserts should! To complement their spa plates, C3 has also come up with its own spa drinks, and Tropical Watermelon Margarita is one of them. It is cool and relaxing, just the right sip for summer. Tropical Mango Slush, Banana Key Lime Freeze and Yogurt Papaya Smoothie are also among their healthy and yummy, best selling spa drinks.

Everybody loves cheesecake, but tofu cheesecake? You will, if it’s from C3. It has the usual smooth-and-tasty, melt-in-your-mouth gustatory trait of cheesecake, only better and much healthier. Tofu cheesecake is one way to satisfy your sweet tooth without compromising your diet. That, or you can indulge in skinny pavlova, pineapple mousse or marcerated food shots.

At C3 Restaurant, the spa cuisine can be availed until June only since they will be introducing another special July, but it is offered as part of its spa-themed package for the spa aficionados who want unique and stress-free way to celebrate their occasion.

Ideal for bridal showers, birthdays, cocktail parties and corporate events, a spa party package is one sure way to celebrate wellness and life’s greatest moments. The package is complete with a cozy spa room with spa amenities from Blue Day Water Spa, where your usual spa treats can be had from facial, back massages and foot spa to manicure, pedicure and digital nail art. Also included in the package are beauty make over and kikay loot bags from Skinfood. Papaya and Banana Yoghurt Mask Wash Off, Tomato Sun Cream and Watermelon Essence and Cream are just some of the yummy skin treats you can look forward to Skinfood.

With the minutest details being taken care of, clients have no reason to stress over planning and organizing their events.

“We take out this concern from the planner by incorporating all the basics into the package. All they have to do is to tell us what they want, and what their budget is, and we will help them create a captivating event that celebrates their occasion,” Chef Inigo says.

For inquiries and reservation, call 726-2712 or 723-2347 or log on to www.peopleeventsplaces.com. Skinfood is available at SM Megamall, SM Morth Edsa, SM Mall of Asia and Ayala Center Cebu.
